Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite 2016 Releases

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Check it out!

This week’s theme? Favorite 2016 releases so far.

Yeah… about that. I am a) cheap b) not a fan of hardback books and therefore c) do not read a lot of books the anywhere near the time they come out. I’ve read a whopping two books published this year, but fortunately both of them are great. So without further ado, my Top Two Tuesday!

  1. All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders. This one has it all – fantasy, sci fi, the apocalypse, AI, and a weird-ass near future San Francisco.
  2. Shrill by Lindy West. I love me a feminist memoir, and this was a great one. Funny and angry and uncompromising. Not for everyone  – she’s vulgar and completely unapologetic, but I loved it.

And that’s it. There are plenty of 2016 releases on my TBR, but I probably won’t get to them until late 2017 cuz I’m cool like that.
